If you get hit by an Amazon delivery driver, sometimes the answer to who pays is best determined by the type of vehicle they’re driving because the way Amazon works these days, sometimes it’s an Amazon truck. Sometimes it’s somebody driving independently for Amazon. It could be an independent contractor. You don’t always know that situation. You can’t always tell that by just looking at who hit you.

00:00:26

But when you get hit by an Amazon delivery driver, the first thing you want to start doing is collecting information, try to get their information, probably try to get the license plate and lock that down, and then get on the phone with the police to get them there. And it very well may be that you don’t even know who’s going to pay with the Amazon delivery driver immediately in the event of an independent situation. But I think it’s safe to say it’s normally going to be Amazon that’s going to be paying

00:00:55

But your best bet, whatever you get hit by anybody in that scenario, is to get the police there, try to get a report, try to get as much information, try to get a driver’s license, try to get an insurance card if you have it. What we face sometimes here in Minnesota is even when you call the police, it’s hard to get them there.

00:01:14

So I think if you called the police in that situation and they were somewhat resistance maybe to come in the event that maybe you didn’t even know if you were hurt at that point in time, property damage may not be extensive. You want to try to reinforce the fact and get them there. But when they don’t, you try to collect as much information as you can, see if there’s any witnesses anywhere near you and see if they’ll give you information so that you have it.

And then you’re going to do the best you can to, I’m going to say, get to an attorney sooner than later to help them so that we can help sort it out so that we can get to the right party so that you make sure you get your property damage, get your injuries and everything else taken care of and get compensated for it.
